Job Description

Overview

The Business Development Director leads and conducts all efforts related to researching, developing, evaluating, and implementing organizational business strategies. 

He/she also functions as a leader of cross-functional teams to ensure business development projects are executed in alignment with the organization’s strategy.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conducts research and analysis to identify new business opportunities related to health care reform, business process outsourcing, as well as other opportunities to leverage the organizational managed care experience for business development.
  • Researches and explains information related to policy, regulatory issues, environmental pressures/opportunities and competitive intelligence to executive leadership.
  • Cultivates relationships with government agencies and other healthcare organizations.
  • Develops and conducts informational presentations and business cases for executive leadership related to environmental challenges, business development opportunities, and organizational strategic initiatives.
  • Effectively analysis health plan performance and leverages strengths/weaknesses when negotiating business development opportunities.
  • Leads initiatives to poise organization to be prepared to pursue business development opportunities and to achieve corporate strategies.
  • Identifies and implements new business partnership.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s degree in health related field preferred

  • Skilled in leading organizational transformations
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to plan and organize self, others and work in order to achieve objectives and targets. Determined to deliver outcomes and is able to overcome obstacles in order to move forward.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with an acute ability to listen attentively and to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and data analysis experience
  • Lean Six Sigma training and experience preferred
  • Group motivation, creativity and diplomacy
  • Proven competency in business analysis
  • Ability to manage and be responsible for shifting business priorities, demands and time lines.
  • Professional presentation skills
  • Health policy evaluation and analysis
  • Consulting experience
  • Ability to work remotely

WORK BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in healthcare industry
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience managing and/or leading corporate strategic projects and initiatives
  • Previous business development experience
  • Experienced in creating, implementing and managing new programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
