Job Description


The SharePoint team is looking for a developer.  This position is responsible for the design, development, and support of applications and websites that are developed in SharePoint technologies and custom programming.   Virginia Premier utilizes SharePoint 2013 Enterprise On Premise with integrated SQL Reporting Services in a multi-server farm. Project Server resides in a separate SharePoint 2013 Enterprise farm. This position is a member of the Web Technologies team which supports SharePoint, SQL Reporting Services, Project Server, Virginia Premier’s websites and web portals.  This position may assist with support of any technologies supported by the team.

  • Produce business solutions using SharePoint out-of-box functionalities and customization with InfoPath, SharePoint Designer and custom code
  • Develop custom workflows and forms
  • Develop solutions to work with external data and content types
  • Research and recommend technologies and tools to increase cost effectiveness, integrations, usability, and future expandability
  • Support end users by troubleshoot and resolving issues
  • Work with minimal supervision to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to write Stored Procedures, write complex SQL queries, and ability to analyze the SQL data is desired
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services SharePoint Integration mode is desired
  • Configure SharePoint services and settings
  • Provide SharePoint support to end users
  • Manage user access, roles and privileges
  • Conduct business process analysis and identify and implement improvements
  • Must be able to write thorough and concise functional and design specifications




  • BA/BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience 


  • SharePoint out of the box features
  • SharePoint object model
  • SharePoint BCS
  • Developing master pages, page layouts, display templates
  • Advanced knowledge of SharePoint Designer and InfoPath
  • .NET, C#, REST API, JQUERY, Javascript, HTML5, CSS, AJAX
  • In-depth understanding of the SharePoint development life cycle as well as SharePoint capabilities such as Document Center, Records Center, Excel, Visio and Access Services.
  • Business intelligence solutions such as Microsoft SQL Server SSIS, SSRS, and SQL Query.
  • MS Visual Studio and Team Foundation
  • Understand the end user’s experience
  • Able to train users and document processes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies
  • Supporting end-users in a corporate environment 
  • Project management techniques 
  • Nintex Forms and Workflows experience a plus



  • 2+ years of experience with SharePoint InfoPath form
  • 3+ years of experience with SharePoint Designer or workflow
  • 3+ years of experience SharePoint Development with .NET
  • Experience with SharePoint administration


  • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position
