Job Description

Overview

This role requires the Vendor Oversight Auditor to assist the Vendor Oversight Manager in streamlining the Subcontractor oversight process in an effort to ensure transparency between business owner, Compliance and Contracting. This role will accurately interpret regulatory guidelines and effectively communicate to internal stakeholders as well as Subcontractors. In addition, oversees internal and external processes that hold the Subcontractors accountable to contractual, regulatory reporting and service level agreement requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the internal stakeholders (i.e. business owners) to identify and resolve vendor performance issues.
  • Review Subcontractor contracts to ensure that regulatory requirement, Service Level Agreements and reporting requirements are explicitly stated in the contracts.
  • Document and troubleshoot Subcontractor non-compliance or corrective action plans and update Senior Leadership team of such issues.
  • Identify areas for improvement internally as well as work closely and diligently with all internal stakeholders to prepare solutions.
  • Conduct detailed vendor risk assessments to determine regulatory, compliance and operational risks inherent within Subcontractor processes as an input in creating the Vendor Audit Work Plan.
  • Assist the Delegation Oversight Manager in executing independent performance based audits of the Subcontractors to determine adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Serving as a point of contact for vendor audits, Joint Operations Committee (JOC) and internal vendor oversight committee meetings.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a Healthcare related discipline.

WORK BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

  • At least 1-2 years of auditing experience, preferably in the Healthcare industry.
  • Prior experience working with Subcontractors in an audit function.
  • Advanced project tracking, presentation and reporting skills.
  • Intermediate or greater proficiency with using Microsoft Power Point, Word, Excel.
  • Must be comfortable taking ownership and accountability for projects.   
  • Ability to build strong, credible relationships by working across multiple areas in a facilitative style.   
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.   
  • Ability to structure an issue and analyze alternative solutions using appropriate metrics, data, and tools.

SPEICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of audit concepts, auditing techniques and standards, practices and procedures including strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Strong organization skills including the ability to handle competing priorities and meet all deadlines and commitments.
  • Ability to give and follow instructions accurately and efficiently; proactive in asking clarifying questions to ensure timely and effective completion of the vendor Audit Work Plan.
  • Ability to identify sensitive issues and facilitate communications in a proactive manner to avoid surprises.
  • Solid understanding and ability to apply risk and control concepts.
  • Ability to identify internal controls to mitigate risk and suggest potential solutions to audit findings or issues.
