Job Description

Overview

Responsible for the oversight of all sales channels (employed agents, captive agents, FMOs) for Medicare programs.  Leads the sales team in executing an effective and regulatory compliant sales strategy for assisting eligible populations in the selection process for their Medicare and Part D benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Sets vision and strategy for achievement of sales results and sales efficiency (in alignment with the overall long-term business strategy)
  • Participates in the development of the marketing plan and strategy for the Medicare lines of business (e.g. Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan, MA-PD).
  • Oversees development of sales materials for all sales channels.
  • Research, analyze and monitor industry activity, demographic trends and consumer insights to capitalize on market opportunities
  • Represents Virginia Premier externally by participating in community activities as well as training engagements in the agent community and presentations to potential clients.
  • Monitors business performance and external market activity and adjusts strategy accordingly and innovatively.
  • Maintains relationships with eligible population by providing support, education, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards of conduct.
  • Keeps current with changing government regulations as it relates to Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Develops and assists functional business owners with development of Marketing Materials that are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supports AVP, VP and other team members to ensure overall department objectives are met.
  • Assumes other adhoc responsibilities as directed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS

  • Experience in new business sales efforts.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to obtain license to sell insurance in the state of Virginia within 90 days of employment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office computer applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word, and Power Point.
  • Significant experience as a leader of cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Prior experience in managed care.
  • Experience with Medicare marketing and sales regulations
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication and presentation skills with an acute ability to listen attentively and to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to plan and organize self, others and work in order to achieve objectives and targets. Determined to deliver outcomes and is able to overcome obstacles in order to move forward.
  • Ability to manage and be responsible for shifting business priorities, demands and timelines.

WORK BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in healthcare industry, insurance sales, and marketing

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position
