Job Description

Overview

The Director, Strategy is a position that will work on highly complex organizational objectives; support the organization in achieving strategic objectives; gain exposure to senior-level decision making; establish relationships across all areas of the organization; and assist in all areas related to development and execution of organizational strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with executive leadership to define our strategy and success criteria for the future.
  • Develop and maintain a project pipeline that aligns with the strategic priorities of the organization.
  • Creates and presents extremely high quality presentations to executive levels. Oversees definition development and implementation of metrics to report and monitor progress against goals and ensures plan of record supports strategy milestone deliverables.
  • Monitors, measures and communicates delivery against business strategic plan and the quality of outcomes.
  • Researches relevant trends and activities in their area of expertise and works with business leadership to further define business strategy and sustain a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
  • Often acts as decision maker on projects or provides guidance to senior team on complex issues.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to other leaders in the organization on strategic thinking and on projects that deliver high return and high strategic value.
  • Manages strategic partnership interaction and management; including partnership selection, input on contract and rate negotiation, representation on partner business and Executive committees, speaking engagements, etc.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required

 

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS

 

  • Skilled in leading organizational strategy
  • Development and management of organizational strategic plans
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to plan and organize self, others and work in order to achieve objectives and targets
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with an acute ability to listen attentively and to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Group motivation, creativity, and diplomacy
  • Proven competency in business analysis
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project Professional and Visio
  • Ability to manage and be responsible for shifting business priorities, demands, and timelines
  • Demonstrated presentation skills
  • Microsoft Project Server experience preferred

 

 WORK BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

 

  • 10 years of strategic planning, project/program management and vendor management experience.
  • 3-5 years of leadership, preferably in healthcare
  • Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
