Job Description

Overview

The Transportation Field Monitor is responsible for ensuring that transportation providers are properly trained and thoroughly understand Virginia Premier Health Plan’s transportation process and procedures. The field monitor is responsible for inspection of transportation vehicles to ensure compliance with contract requirements to include compliance with Federal, State and Local laws. Position requires 75% travel.

 

Member Operations

As a managed care organization, the areas within Member Services play a major role for our members. Our ability to enroll and then welcome our members, secure their information, answer questions, assign primary care Physician’s and provide transportation to and from appointments is critical to the health and lives of our members.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains certification as instructor of Passenger Assistance Sensitivity & Safety (PASS)
  • Responsible for new vendor orientation to VPHP Transportation
  • Responsible for vendor training and reoccurring training on all VPHP process
  • Performs vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle compliance with all ADA and other Federal, State and Local standards
  • Preforms twice a year scheduled visits to contracted transportation providers to verify provider adherence to contract standards
  • Performs random visits to contracted transportation providers.
  • Dedicated time in the “field” performing scheduled and unscheduled vendor site visits
  • Maintains a database of providers
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS

  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train drivers and providers
  • Ability to handle difficult situations diplomatically
  • Strong time management
  • Ability to build strong relationships within and outside the health plan
  • Detail oriented and strong organization skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedule

WORK BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in training
  • Experience in inspections or auditing preferred
  • Preferably transportation experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
