Job Description

Overview

This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of all transportation offices and depots in the assigned territory. The manager will serve as reporting official for transportation supervisors and other staff in the department as designated. Responsibilities will also include maintaining training for staff in their area of responsibility.

 

Member Operations

As a managed care organization, the areas within Member Services play a major role for our members. Our ability to enroll and then welcome our members, secure their information, answer questions, assign primary care Physician’s and provide transportation to and from appointments is critical to the health and lives of our members.

Responsibilities

  • Review the daily transportation performance for the assigned catchment areas.
  • Review, monitor and supervise the work activities of the transportation supervisory staff.
  • Analyzes data and develops solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.
  • Designs, evaluates, recommends, and approves changes of processes and systems.
  • Complete performance reviews for transportation staff under their supervision.
  • Plans study of work processes, procedures, systems, communications, information flow, and production methods, with the goal of improving such.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain processes to assure adequate staffing for areas of responsibility.
  • Develop and maintain processes to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent requried.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS

  • Proven experience in personnel and process management.
  • Proven ability to review operational level data in order to recommend process improvements, monitor employee development and measure outcomes.
  • Experience in staff development and coaching.
  • Demonstrated experience with transportation best practices
  • Proven experience with electronic scheduling systems.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.

WORK BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

  • Three to five years experience in the transportation industry is preferred.
  • Experience with Excel, Access or other data analysis applications required.
  • Proven personnel supervisory experience with increasing levels of responsibility required.
  • Experience communicating with outside entities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
