This position will require a focus in business and market analytics, as well as in strategic partnerships and growth opportunities with modeling for Virginia Premier.  This may entail market research into other states, lines of business, or products for Plan expansion.


Additionally, with a foot in both the market research and digital analytics spaces, the Manager will work with internal business owners and vendors to understand how effective marketing and promotional efforts occur across channels. They will assist in designing and managing digital analytics projects to provide the company with customer and marketplace insights on a variety of their current and prospective lines of business. Work will involve analyzing web, promotional, survey, retail, and ecommerce data to paint a clear picture of how customers engage and interact with different Virginia Premier products.


The Manager is responsible for providing support with respect to understanding data modeling and ensuring decision-makers have insight and empirical evidence to help drive business and operational decisions.



  • Provide analytics leadership and support to cross-functional team(s) focused on developing health plan capabilities and opportunities.
  • Integrate consumer and marketplace data and analysis from multiple sources to generate and present consumer-centric insights in order to provide actionable business recommendations to all levels of management.
  • Ensure accurate, timely data is provided to inform the planning, implementation, and evaluation of innovative marketing approaches at Virginia Premier.
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of analysts



  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, strategy, business or relevant area with experience in health care data analysis or related experience may qualify applicant.



  • Comprehensive background in advanced research design, statistics, epidemiology, budget and revenue forecasting, and cost effectiveness analysis;
  • Knowledge of health care delivery systems and health care databases;
  • Expertly skilled in use of BI software (specifically Tableau), Microsoft Office suite; Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to effectively translate technical and theoretical concepts of information to technical and non-technical staff;
  • Exhibit critical thinking and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines. Knowledge of population health management and provider strategy;
  • Ability to support leadership and clinicians in articulating strategic and operational delivery challenges and in understanding how data and analytics can be used to address those challenges;
  • Demonstrated experience with planning, directing, and executing the evaluation of health care programs involving the collection and analysis of complex clinical and billing data;
  • Demonstrated experience programming and managing large data sets in Cognos, SAS, SQL, STATA, SPSS, or equivalent software;


  • Prefer experience in an insurance program or health care delivery system that has a mission of serving vulnerable populations.
  • Preferred: Minimum 2+ years of experience in healthcare (preferably Medicaid and/or Medicare), business analysis or application development/implementation
  • Six Sigma Green Belt preferred


  • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
