This satellite office position is responsible for providing HR & OD support to the business areas, including the coordination and administration of a range of programs and activities related to the employee performance, employee relations and employer-employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation, and morale. The Senior HR Generalist also supports the areas of Talent Acquisition, Organizational Development, and Total Rewards. Position will be responsible for executing the recruitment process from requisition to hire, facilitating New Employee Orientation, and training coordination.


  • Equips managers with appropriate tools and knowledge to effectively manage their people, e.g. performance management, absence management, career management etc.
  • Embed a performance management culture within the business area as a means of driving business improvement by ensuring clear objectives, feedback and the improvement of customer service through behaviors aligned with our values.
  • Supports the business areas with the development of their people, providing advice, guidance and training on team or individual development plans.
  • Works in partnership with the business to manage employee relations issues. Addresses issues relative to employment and counseling’s by conducting investigative interviews and other appropriate means.
  • Maintains knowledge of state and federal regulations as it pertains to employee relations and ensures that the department and its policies and procedures remain in compliance with those laws.
  • Partners with business areas to develop communication plans and methods for effective communication in support of various initiatives, programs and practices.
  • Coaches and/or counsels employees and managers on their performance and behavior in accordance with the organization’s goal to be an employer of choice.
  • Coordinate the effective operations of HR & OD programs, e.g., LEAD, management development program, performance appraisals, exit interviews, stay interviews.
  • Facilitates training on various topics, i.e., LEAD, NEO, Operational Training Courses and Crisis Intervention/Safety Training etc.
  • Visits satellite offices to develop relationships with staff in all areas.
  • Recruitment to include sourcing candidates, review resumes, phone screen, interview coordination, conduct reference checks, background checks, travel coordination and salary offer approvals.
  • Training coordination to include, scheduling, room set-up, documentation creation/maintenance, and training packet creation.
  • Gather required new hire paperwork and documents.
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers on various human resources functions.
  • Interact with employees to answer questions, triage their needs, and connect them to other departmental team members for resolution as appropriate.
  • Performs searches for qualified candidates according to relevant job criteria, using databases, networking, internet recruiting resources, recruiting firms, and employee referrals.
  • Maintains accurate and well-organized documentation to ensure a compliant and thorough audit if required.
  • Provides coverage and support for HR Engage as needed.
  • Utilizes networking skills to develop recruiting sources by attending job fairs, establishing contacts in the local market, maintaining active membership in various professional organizations.
  • Provides back up for colleagues, as needed.
  • Participation in projects as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Masters Degree in a related field preferred


  • Knowledge of human resources and training practices and principles
  • Knowledge of current human resources, training, and organizational development trends
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws and human resources/training/organizational development fundamentals
  • Ability to develop and facilitate training
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated skills, experience and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state laws and regulations as they relate to human resources and organizational development.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate training courses to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience using an applicant tracking system (ATS) such as iCIMS (preferred).
  • Prior experience using a performance management system such as Halogen (preferred).
  • Prior experience using an HRIS database such as Ascentis, Lawson, PeopleSoft, etc. (preferred).
  • Knowledge and application of current human resources, training, and organizational development trends and best practices.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in daily operations


  •  3-6 years of related experience in various aspects of human resources.



Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
