Job Description


This Compensation Specialist is responsible for assisting in developing and implementing wage and salary programs, including but not limited to, researching, analyzing, and participating in various salary surveys for the purpose of assuring that compensation programs are market competitive and meet the overall strategic goals and objectives of the organization.


  • Implements compensation policies including classifying new/existing positions, matching jobs to the market
  • Develops recommendations regarding structure and salary adjustments based on relevant market data;
  • Reviews and recommends revisions to compensation policies as requested
  • Assists in developing and implementing wage and salary programs
  • Responsible for researching, analyzing, and participating in various salary surveys for the purpose of assuring the plan's compensation programs are market competitive and meet overall organization comp plan objectives.
  • Sets and maintains competitive compensation scales and ensures all positions are set within appropriate pay ranges
  • Leads the operational aspects of the Salary Increase & Spot Bonus Committee, ensures that requests are processed, approved and communicated in a timely manner
  • Ensures through audits, reports and personal contact that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Maintains and expands knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed Department of Labor, Fair Labor Standards laws/regulations affecting the organizations compensation program and advises management and employees accordingly.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field
  • CCP, PHR or SPHR Certification is a plus 


  • Must possess and demonstrate attention to detail
  • Must be able to research information and use technical tools to analyze data to arrive at recommendations
  • Must have considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of modern office management and record keeping
  • Must have the ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships
  • Solid PC skills including strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal/written presentation and interpersonal communication skills, including ability to solve problems and appropriately escalate issues to Total Rewards Manager


  • 3-6 years of experience working in roles engaged in compensation administration and experience in various aspects of human resources


  • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
