The Data Architect will provide guidance and leadership to the organization as the technology and business landscape evolves to meet the demands of a changing marketplace. This person must have knowledge of all components of the warehousing architecture: technical infrastructure, data, ETL, BI, and metadata management. The Data Architect will ensure that appropriate standards are defined and followed, and the individual components of the architecture are compatible with broader architectural goals.


  • Partner with the business and technology functions to develop a clear understanding of business development and operations
  • Establish and maintain the data architecture and roadmap for the organization
  • Set and enforce standards and overall architecture for the enterprise information access architecture
  • Monitor changes occurring in the data technology market and assist in establishing the organization warehousing strategy and selection of strategic warehousing tools and techniques
  • Lead efforts to build an integrated data model for the analytical data environment
  • Educate the project teams on the standards and architecture of each component of the data architecture
  • Ensure compatibility of the different components of the data architecture
  • Ensure proper selection of appropriate software, tools and development techniques for the different components of the data architecture
  • Mentor staff and provide educational and training opportunities
  • Assist in resolving project issues
  • Assist in managing all requests for change in scope or requirements
  • Monitor changes occurring in the metadata market and assist in establishing the organization’s metadata strategy and selection of strategic metadata and modeling tools and techniques
  • Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts
  • Provide oversight to data mapping, data design and data modeling activities and participate in design, code and test reviews to ensure quality solutions
  • Enforce and enhance data analysis and modeling methods and procedures
  • Enforce and enhance data standards and conventions
  • Enforce and enhance metadata management procedures



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or related degree preferred, or equivalent work experience


  • Healthcare system, business and management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Ability to work well with others within all organizational hierarchies
  • Knowledge of business systems, operating systems, data modeling, data management, data quality management and data warehousing
  • Knowledge of data acquisition (ETL) tools, data cleansing tools, BI tools, Master Data Management tool, data modeling tools, and data visualization tools (Tableau)
  • In depth of knowledge in MS SQL Server components: SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, DQS


  • A minimum of 8 years of data engineering experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of data architecture and data modeling experience
  • Experience working in large data volume environments
  • Experience working in a regulated industry
  • Experience working as a data scientist or data analyst is preferred


  • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
