  • Overview

    The Marketing Specialist position supports the development, tracking and oversight of Medicare marketing initiatives.  The position under the direction of the Medicare Marketing Development Manager will develop and support Medicare marketing with print, digital and online marketing including website.  The role encompasses member communications, prospect communications including sales materials, and business lines associated with Medicare including provider relations, care management.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop digital campaigns with the digital marketing department including SEM, email and campaign landing pages
    • Work with the social media specialist to develop social media posts and tracking for Medicare beneficiaries
    • In a collaborative arrangement with Sales develop marketing written collateral and other support materials
    • Develop health education materials to support the Medicare STARS and Care Management divisions. STAR ratings are important to the financial reimbursement Virginia Premier receives from CMS.
    • Working with Analytics track response rates and sales from direct mail and digital marketing
    • Collaborates with Medicare Program, Department Leaders, and Sales
    • Assist in the open enrollment materials development
    • Ability to develop marketing reports of effectiveness of campaigns
    • Prioritize work under direction of Medicare Development Manager

    Qualifications

     MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS 

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing or related field

    SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS 

    • Knowledge of Microsoft office products required
    • Knowledge of Word Press desirable
    • Knowledge of SEM and tracking of digital marketing
    • Knowledge of website development including identifying hot sports and areas for improvement
    • Knowledge of print production
    • Understanding of the Medicare population including dual eligible - those individuals who meet both Medicaid and Medicare requirements
    • Knowledge of health education and ability to research to write effective health communications to members
    • Ability to manage several priorities at one time
    • Ability to work with other departments in meeting the overall goals of the Medicare Marketing initiatives

     WORK BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum three years of marketing experience within the health care industry, including providers, insurance companies, and organizations focused on diseases specific conditions
    • Knowledge of CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) marketing guidelines and business preferred
    • Knowledge of writing digital ads, social media and ability to track results
    • Ability to develop email campaigns and websites/landing pages preferred
    • Excellent writing and proofing reading experience
    • Good interactive skills with multiple departments/conflicting prioritizations 

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
