    The Manager of the Project Management is a position that works collaboratively as a leader within the organization and drives projects and initiatives through successful application of sound project management practices. This role is responsible for ensuring effective project execution, inculcating project management best practices and coaching and developing the project management staff.



    This position requires clear understanding of health plan operations, and the ability to interact with all levels of an organization. Regular responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Coaching the Project Management team on best practices, problem resolution, communication planning and issue escalation
    • Leading and mentoring project teams and managers in the full range of project management elements
    • Managing daily team operations and addressing or escalating issues when required
    • Working with the Initiative Management Team to ensure usage of standardized project management processes
    • Breaking down organizational barriers to ensure project teams are effective in reaching problem resolution
    • Working closely with a designated operational area or areas to consult and/or manage special projects
    • Evaluating and monitoring the performance and efficiency of projects
    • Demonstrating the ability to work on cross-functional teams on multiple projects
    • Providing consultation to the team on project execution matters
    • Applying innovative thinking to identify, address and resolve project issues
    • Facilitating project management and six sigma related training
    • Other related duties as assigned



    • Bachelor’s Degree required



    • Demonstrated team management and development skills
    • Effective oversight through all stages of the project life-cycle
    • Exceptional critical thinking skills with a solution focused perspective
    • Proven ability to handle complex situations, conflicts, and issues effectively; is sensitive to how people and organizations function
    • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with an acute ability to listen attentively and to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Sharepoint (preferred)
    • Demonstrated presentation skills
    • Experience developing an understanding and awareness of key operations throughout the organization
    • Proven success in building partnerships with management and leading critical initiatives in collaboration with operations
    • Works well under time constraints, flexibility to change priorities as business needs dictate
    • Effective organizational Change Management skills: leadership, communication, team building, facilitation, including managing without authority
    • Complex critical thinking and analytical skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively to direct and motivate team and others, maintaining a persuasive and credible presentation style at all levels of the organization
    • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies, data analysis, process mapping, process analysis, data collection, and facilitation techniques
    • Understands and can demonstrate knowledge of statistical analysis and statistical concepts


    • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in Project Management
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
    • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification preferred



    • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
