    Overview

    As a key member of the Virginia Premier digital team, this full-time position is responsible for management of all website content and other projects related to the ongoing development and maintenance of Virginia Premier’s online presence. The candidate will serve as the liaison between Marketing, ITS and business-area subject matter experts to manage and execute short- and long-term website content initiatives and strategies. The digital content strategist is responsible for creating and maintaining editorial calendars, style guides, taxonomies, metadata frameworks, and content migration plans. The candidate will also be responsible for adapting content for search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM).  

    Responsibilities

    • Execute marketing and communications strategies across all digital channels
    • Manage execution of website content development for internal and external websites, including information architecture, content planning, and publishing standards. Evaluate digital project requests to determine scope, schedule, and overall feasibility.
    • Proactively recommend and implement content/marketing strategies and digital best practices that enable our business success and drive member and provider engagement and satisfaction.
    • Work effectively with stakeholders, understanding their business needs and partner audiences, serving as a consultant on best digital content practices, and helping them craft compelling online messaging.
    • Interface with marketing development, subject matter experts, business areas, and ITS development to package content into logical and intuitive digital resources, while also developing the systems and structure needed to support regular content updates.
    • Establish and maintain editorial guidelines, processes, voice and tone, and best practices. Leverage metrics to assess editorial success and improve user experience.
    • Recommend and implement new digital marketing opportunities and provide strategic thinking and input to the overall digital strategies and site enhancements to improve user experience.
    • Drive editorial excellence, ensuring all content is relevant, accurate, and compelling.
    • Oversee and contribute to the published product by authoring website content, headlines, etc. 

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION  REQUIREMENTS

    • Four-year degree in English, Communications, Marketing or related field, preferably in health communications

    SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS

    • Superior written and verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
    • Experience with Google Analytics and Tag Manager
    • Experience with User Experience (UX) research and analysis
    • Experience developing and testing information architecture
    • Experience coordinating and working with cross functional teams and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Experience working with user experience (UX) designers, front-end developers, and other digital team members
    • Proven ability to establish goals, set clear expectations, prioritize activities, and follow through with timely execution
    • Strong analytical and project management skills
    • Knowledge and/or experience with Medicare and Medicaid managed care programs and regulations preferred

    WORK BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE 

    • Three to five years of digital marketing and web content management experience
    • Three to five years of web writing experience
    • Two to three years of search engine optimization and search engine marketing experience

    • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position
