    Overview

    The Business Performance team provides oversight of reporting and ensures accountability of all departments across Virginia Premier through corporate data and metrics. The comprehensive range of work performed by the Business Performance team allows for the opportunity to assist departments in their projects and initiatives.

    The Business Analyst II will serve as a subject matter expert in Business Performance Reporting and Analytics.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: build, maintain and present managerial, operational, and executive level reports; provide business solutions to stakeholders both internal and external, across a wide range of departments; conduct analyses related to Business Performance Processes; provide recommendations to stakeholders regarding process improvements; conduct ad-hoc analyses as requested.

    Responsibilities

    • Implement advanced strategies for gathering, reviewing and analyzing data requirements.
    • Assist in the design and development of the Data Report Systems.
    • Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
    • Document projects and develop user instructions for training purposes and other duties as assigned.
    • Demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail at all times and looks for ways to improve and promote quality.
    • Strong logic and analytical skills required for both business analysis and report testing.
    • Assist in business case development.
    • Conducting cost/benefit analysis, both directed and self-actuated.
    • Participate in development and analysis teams with other managers (including managers of other organizations).
    • Ability to communicate with clients independently.
    • Develops innovative approaches and ideas and present information in a manner that gets other’s attention.
    • Good inter-personal relationship and demonstrated ability to work in a team.
    • Determine if requirements are clear, concise, and testable as well as meeting customer expectations.
    • Work closely with Product Owners to understand product specifics and to create corresponding test strategies.
    • Ensure project managers impacted areas are fully informed of test status and deviations from documented requirements.
    • Builds relationship with stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s Degree. Degree in Business, Information Systems, Health Care or related field preferred.

     SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS

    • Knowledge of a structured query language, such as TSQL, PL/SQL or SPSS.
    • Creates complex queries that join multiple tables / sources and significant data massaging.
    • Understanding of Business Intelligence Tools (Tableau preferred).
    • Be a pioneer for new processes and technologies within company.
    • Moderate analytical thinking with demonstrated talent for identifying, improving, and streamlining work flows.
    • Able to troubleshoot and implement solutions to complex problems.
    • Leads own work efforts.  Contribute suggestions to multiple team efforts.
    • Basic understanding of how work effects the enterprise and bottom line; ability to identify new sources of revenue loss in one or more units.

    WORK BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE 

    • Required: Minimum 2 years of experience in data analysis and/or report development.
    • Preferred: Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare business analysis or application development/implementation.
    • Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.

    • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position
