    Overview

    The HEDIS Data & Systems Analyst III will provide application support, including responding to user's questions, problem analysis and resolution, maintenance, enhancements, documentation, and training. Serve as a HEDIS data subject matter expert (SME) who will be hands-on with the extraction of data from various sources, understand the flow and usage of data. Work with the Quality department, various ISOM teams, and external vendors to process data and produce the required measures for annual and monthly HEDIS reporting.   Drive operational excellence by ensuring controls and data validation activities are performed as data is consumed by HEDIS software tools. Collaborate with applicable internal business partners to obtain in-depth information about business requirements for technology supporting HEDIS Operations. Performs analysis and documents business process leading to process change and/or system implementation. Provides leadership and mentoring to other analysts to help with their professional development.

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as senior administrator to HEDIS third party applications
    • Review and analyze existing applications’ effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems
    • Work closely with vendors, internal IT teams and end users to ensure technical compatibility and end user satisfaction
    • Provide high level application support and troubleshooting by resolving issues in a timely and accurate manner
    • Coordinate, develop, and manage the ETL processes, ensuring quality of deliverables
    • Manage large amounts of data across multiple sources
    • Work with external entities to obtain supplemental data needed for HEDIS reporting
    • Review data to determine operational impacts and needed actions; elevate issues, trends, areas for improvement and opportunities to management
    • Integrates diverse data sources to describe performance on key quality indicators, including but not limited to HEDIS, STARS, CAHPS
    • Develop and maintain project plans; lead end to end HEDIS related projects and initiatives, but not limited to, completion of HEDIS road map or audits
    • Assess the needs of the end users, translate them into requirements, and develop solutions
    • Creates and executes test plans to ensure that the functional and business requirements are met by the proposed solution
    • Document and define processes, eliminating activities that are non-value added and straightening out the flow of the activities
    • Maintains up-to-date knowledge and advanced understanding of technical specifications for all measures
    • Communicates effectively through written reports, graphical representations, and oral presentations to internal and external stakeholders
    • Develop and communicate documentation and training for end users

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • With a 4 year college degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or equivalent experience

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum of 5 years working in Information Systems managing and supporting applications and/or data warehouse
    • Minimum of 3 years of analytical work experience
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL)
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (SSIS)

    SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR SKILLS

    • Experience with HEDIS reporting and regulatory requirements (preferred)
    • Able to work independently on multiple projects in coordination with other internal and external project team members
    • Detail oriented, proficient computer skills with experience in Database, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and other MS Office applications
    • Data management experience
    • Experience with report generation using health care data with focus on membership, provider, and encounter/claims data.
    • Experience in supporting third party applications and end-users in a corporate environment
    • Experience in managing external vendors
    • Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to work cross functionally with other departments
    • Ability to interact with all levels of employees
    • Effective interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
