    Overview

    The Continuous Improvement Consultant is responsible for assisting process improvement through the organization’s Continuous Improvement (CI) program, utilizing process design and improvement skills, as well as proven best practice techniques and team management. This role serves as a leader or critical team member on initiatives, providing analytical and process improvement expertise to facilitate optimization of the company’s operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain and encourage a customer (member) focused mindset that is aligned with the needs of the population we serve
    • Collaborate with business units to gather process improvement suggestions
    • Manage multiple project teams in execution of process improvement projects
    • Lead continuous improvement efforts in the organization such as Quick Wins, Rapid Improvement Process (RIP) projects, Kaizen events, and Green Belt Projects
    • Support operational areas with managing their Continuous Improvement Initiatives Log
    • Evaluate and monitor improvement progress to ensure successful outcomes and escalate when necessary
    • Apply analytical/quantitative approach to problem solving
    • Ensure usage of standardized project management processes
    • Update monthly project dashboard metrics and project statuses
    • Facilitate and lead Continuous Improvement training such as Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, Quality Tools, and Project Management
    • Complete other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, Information Systems and/or related field
    • Continuous Improvement certification preferred such as Green Belt (Lean, Six Sigma, or Lean Six Sigma) or TQM

    SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS

    • Understanding and awareness of key operations throughout the company
    • Proven success in building partnerships with management and leading critical initiatives in collaboration with operations
    • Works well under time constraints with resiliency to change priorities as business needs dictate
    • Effective project management
    • Effective soft project management skills: leadership, communication, team building, facilitation, including without authority
    • Complex critical thinking and analytical skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively to direct and motivate team and others, maintaining a persuasive and credible presentation style at all levels of the organization
    • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies, data analysis, process mapping, process analysis, data collection, and facilitation techniques
    • Understands and can demonstrate knowledge of statistical analysis and statistical concepts
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, OneNote, Minitab, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project preferred
    • End user level knowledge of SharePoint
    • Ability to understand information technology tools and collaborate with IT professionals to leverage technologies to improve processes
    • Exposure to Change Management principles preferred

    WORK BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 2 years of continuous improvement experience in leading process improvement efforts from inception, execution, and closure
    • Demonstrated hands-on experience in Continuous Improvement methodologies
    • Health insurance industry experience strongly preferred

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position
