    Overview

    Project Management Consultant II is a position that works collaboratively as a project leader and participant on interdisciplinary teams within organization initiatives.  This role is responsible for developing and maintaining communication with and among departments, clients and VPHP Senior Management to facilitate effective project execution, documentation, and issue resolution.

    Responsibilities

    • This position requires the ability to work within project teams on both a support and leadership level and to be able to display full and complete knowledge of project management principles and apply them to all initiatives.
    • Leads and supports small-medium size initiatives by coordinating all elements of the project administration process including: project schedules, communication plans, subgroup meetings and status updates.
    • Partner with operational areas to provide structure and organization to projects and lead these initiatives.
    • Ensures programs and business processes meet necessary requirements and are accurately captured in Process Maps and SOPs.
    • Demonstrated ability to leverage project management methodologies to drive initiatives for successful completion.   
    • Creates and maintains SharePoint project sites with project documentation. Ensures that location and accessibility is provided to appropriate team members.  
    • Constructs and maintains project related documentation: process flows, project schedules, charters, kickoff presentations, RAID logs and other deliverables needed to support projects
    • Attends meetings, compiles and publishes meeting minutes along with deliverables and other requirements. 
    • Confidently works with all levels within the organization to accomplish project goals
    • Facilitate communications among project team members
    • Demonstrates ability to lead cross-functional teams on multiple projects
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • Project Management Professional Certification preferred

    SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS

    • Demonstrated experience with MS Office tools; MS Project required. MS Visio, Powerpoint and MS OneNote strongly recommended
    • Ability to lead meetings and presentations in front of large groups
    • Handles difficult situations diplomatically and understands to escalate when necessary
    • Ability to build strong relationships within and outside the health plan.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify issues and propose solutions.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

     WORK BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

    • A minimum of 3 years of related experience managing small to medium size projects.
    • A minimum of 2 years of managed care/health care experience preferred.
    • Solid understanding of managed care, Medicaid, Medicare and health insurance industry.
    • Computer skills required (Microsoft Office).

    • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
