    Overview

    The System Performance Analyst III performs moderate to complex development and analysis of system performance, stability, and accuracy across multiple areas of functionality. Primary areas of responsibility will be to develop and monitor reporting for the following areas;

    • Evaluation of QNXT Edits with a focus on trends and then identifying opportunities for improvements.
    • Creating dashboards that monitor system performance looking at average time to complete batch jobs, ensuring control reports and error reports are distributed and managed by team members.
    • Creating optics into monitoring the outcomes of system changes moved into production, reporting on accuracy and impacts to existing processes
    • Creating and Updating all Departmental metrics
    • Working with CTS on the creation of all script jobs to update QNXT core.
    • Ad hoc analysis to facilitate root cause identification for the configuration teams

    This role will work closely with the department director and VP to develop a library of queries and reports for the department, as well as other areas of the company.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops a mastery of the QNXT SQL Tables for reporting and impact of custom scripts
    • Understands business goals and translate them into reporting requirements
    • Performs data analysis and draws business conclusion for decision making
    • Identifies key components of a project and evaluate the impact across the organization
    • Understands all aspects of program operations, including policies and procedures, program guidelines, file layouts and requirements, general rules and regulations in order to exercise good judgment in the use of configuration standards
    • Works on the creation and execution of complex QNXT update scripts clearly articulating testing outcomes, system impacts, identifying any adverse impacts and risks and partnering with the configuration team on reporting script outcomes
    • Creates complex design documents through the assessment of requirements; assesses alternatives to different designs and chooses bets solution to fit business needs
    • Recommends improvements from the evaluation of system performance and batch processing jobs
    • Develops and distributes performance metrics and dashboards to Team Leads and Managers as directed team
    • Works in cooperation with other company analysts and staff to accomplish business objectives
    • Creates, understands and articulates data regarding program operations
    • Creates ad-hoc reports as needed
    • Assists QNXT Development Team in other activities as directed

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related technical field required.

    SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS

    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products
    • Strong knowledge of software implementation / development life cycle
    • Strong documentation skills
    • Excellent communications/teamwork skills
    • Knowledge of Cognizant/TriZetto products and applications helpful
    • Knowledge of 837 (electronic claim) and 835 (electronic remit) record layouts is helpful
    • Proven ability to analyze data and processes
    • Experience with developing process flow charts or similar diagrams
    • Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and priorities

    WORK BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

    • 3+ year experience writing TSQL or SQL queries preferred
    • 1+ years MS SQL Server experience, with SQL Server Reporting Services 2005/2008 (SSRS) and/or SQL Server Integration Services 2005/2008 (SSIS) preferred
    • 2+ years business experience, with Claims or Healthcare related experience (preferably Medicare Managed Care) preferred
    • 2+ years experience working in Information Systems, with system configuration and SQL/Oracle platforms preferred
    • Previous experience working in a health plan is a plus

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
