    Overview

    This position is responsible for the daily administration of Human Resource services, including but not limited to compensation, employee programs, spot bonus administration, merit increases, contract negotiation and administration, internal promotion process, 401k administration, employee data integrity and benefits administration in accordance with legal and quality management principles and the overall strategic goals and objectives of the organization.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for managing the administration of employee benefits in all company operations. Review industry surveys to determine company's competitive position in employee total rewards.
    • Develops, recommends, and oversees the implementation of approved, new, or modified plans and employee benefit policies, and supervise administration of existing plans.
    • Develops and implements employee benefit risk management programs and processes and develop cost control procedures to ensure maximum coverage at the least possible cost to company and employee.
    • Plans, develops and implements compensation programs, policies, procedures, in order to be responsive to the company's goals and competitive practices. Ensures through audits, reports and personal contact that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations.
    • Responsible for oversight of market compensation analysis and the administration of any related salary increases.
    • Provides supervision and direction to team engaged in developing and administering the organization’s benefits and compensation programs. Manages the day-to-day operations for the team, inclusive of individual and team development, project assignment and oversight, and work performance and productivity analysis.
    • Manages human resources information systems to ensure data is captured, analyzed, and evaluated for decision making. Implements systems and integration of systems to improve work processes.
    • Manages the development of departmental and corporate metrics to aid in decision-making regarding the organization’s people resources.
    • Establishes, manages and audits recordkeeping procedures, implement electronic systems for data maintenance. Establishes and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders involved in the management of benefits, compensation, recruitment, and employee relations.
    • Maintains and expands knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resources management. Identifies trends that could impact organizational objectives and/or operational resources. Interprets appropriate laws and policies and advises management and employees accordingly.
    • Oversees implementation of processes and systems to comply with federal health care reform regulations (i.e. PPACA).
    • Leads and manages the organizations spot bonus and salary increase process to ensure consistency and fairness in decision making.
    • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Manages the development of human resources policies and procedures and processes. Communicates changes to the policies and processes and ensures proper compliance is followed.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field
    • Master’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred
    • CBP or CEBS certification preferred
    • PHR or SPHR Certification preferred

    SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS 

    • Must have strong, demonstrated knowledge and history of benefits and 401k administration.
    • Must possess and demonstrate attention to detail, pursuit of accuracy and compliance
    • Must possess considerable knowledge of current total rewards, human resources information systems management and the principles, practices, and procedures of Human Resources Management.
    • Must be able to research information and use technical tools to analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action.
    • Must be able to prepare comprehensive reports and represent ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
    • Must have considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of modern office management and recordkeeping.
    • Must have the ability to plan, coordinate, and direct the work of staff engaged in various professional, technical, and clerical functions.
    • Must have the ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
    • Knowledge of human resources and training practices, principles, and current best practices/trends
    • Solid PC skills including strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
    • Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills, including ability to appropriately escalate, negotiate, resolve conflict, and manage change 
    • Must have experience in executive compensation

    WORK BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

    • 3-6 years of experience working in roles engaged in benefit, 401k, compensation, and HRIS administration
    • 3-6 years of experience supervising human resources staff and human resources operations (medium to large organizations preferred)
