    Overview

    The Manager of IT Projects is responsible for the supervision of Project Analysts to ensure that all projects within ISOM are delivered within the defined scope, quality, time and cost requirements. Ensure that the ISOM Project Support Team (IPST) is adhering to the responsibility of managing multiple IT projects across the enterprise that include application deployments and integrations, telecommunications, data migrations, and various technology enabling projects leveraging internal and external implementation and support teams. Enforce and uphold the project standards and governance set forth by IPST across the ISOM Department. The Manager of IT Projects works with the Director of Info Systems & IT Projects to ensure that IPST supports the IT vision and roadmap that aligns with the business strategic plan.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage departmental and enterprise IT projects to meet business needs; Identify key IT resources needed on projects; Facilitate transition of systems and applications from project development to on-going operations
    • Manage, mentor, and lead team of Project Analysts to achieve optimal and innovative results
    • Ensure business needs are communicated back to ISOM
    • Develop and manage project metrics and effectively communicate them to ISOM Leadership & the department
    • Coordinate with Senior Information Systems Leadership to define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with user management and stakeholders 
    • Ensure proper execution of IPST’s formal IT project methodology and framework in coordination with Senior Information Systems Leadership
    • Gather business requirements, assess customer needs, and design solutions to improve business efficiency and productivity
    • Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
    • Develop training plans for staff
    • Ensure that staffing levels are maintained throughout operational hours
    • Maintains confidentiality in dealing with sensitive data
    • Work independently while managing workload and deadlines

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION/WORKING EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor of Science degree and minimum of 5 years’ experience OR 9 years of equivalent working experience.
    • Minimum of 3 years working in Information Systems leading or participating in projects
    • Experience in management/supervisory level of responsibility (preferred)
    • Experience in a consultant environment/role (preferred)

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND/OR SKILLS

    • Experience in managing IT projects using SDLC or Agile framework
    • Experience in developing and deploying project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes
    • Competent in project management, IT governance, IT standards and policies formulation
    • Proficient with project management application tools (MS Project, Project Server, etc)
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and delegate simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to effectively manage internal and external resources
    • Ability to present detailed project plans, formal presentations and communications
    • Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to work cross functionally with other departments
    • Effective interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
    • Effective leader and mentor to direct reports
    • Healthcare Industry experience (a plus)
    • Knowledge of PMBOK (a plus)
    • Knowledge and experience with utilizing the ITIL framework (a plus)
