    This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating the training, development, and work activities of all transportation dispatchers and drivers for the assigned region. The incumbent will be responsible for creating the daily transportation schedule, monitoring schedules and ensuring that member transports are accomplished in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.  They will also be responsible for assuring that vehicle maintenance is accomplished as scheduled.  This position requires a complete understanding of the transportation process from member reservation to transport to transportation claims payment.  They will work with the Transportation Review Specialists and transportation staff to resolve transportation complaints.



    • Ensure coordination and implementation of timely, efficient and cost-effective transportation services for VPHP members
    • Responsible for resolving real time transportation issues when contacted by members and engage in live communication between transportation providers and members to ensure real-time trip issues are resolved and that all riders are successfully transported
    • Review, monitor and supervise the work activities of the transportation dispatch and driver staff
    • Provide feedback for the development of policies and procedures for VPHP transportation operation
    • Provide transportation staff with ongoing in-service training on safety, driving techniques and customer service
    • Ensure departmental compliance with regulatory standards
    • Complete performance reviews for assigned staff
    • Comply with company policies and procedures





    • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
    • College coursework in business, transportation, or management preferred



    • Proven experience in Transportation or other operational area
    • Experience with scheduling/routing software preferred
    • Proven experience in research and investigation of facts
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks
    • Good organization skills and the ability to prioritize task
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Ability to read and write English fluently



    • Two (2) years supervisory experience preferred



    • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position
