    Overview

    This position is responsible for developing an extensive expertise in the data and systems leveraged internally and externally by the Health Exchange Analytics Program team.  Responsible for working with various Operational Departments, Information Systems, and Data Warehouse teams to implement the Health Exchange Analytics.  Initiative and support ongoing organizational objectives including gathering requirements, performing analysis, supporting the development and testing of DW Tables and processes, and understanding and documenting the applications, data, and associated technologies for the team. This position is responsible for developing an extensive expertise in the HHS Risk Adjustment area. This position will provide analytics and risk adjustment reporting support to HHS Marketplace program post implementation.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for developing an extensive expertise in the data and systems leveraged by the Analytics HHS Marketplace Program team
    • Participate in report development and automation using Microsoft SQL Server (SSRS, SSIS), Tableau and other analytical software products and tools
    • Provides support to all activities related to implementation, report development, data management, and analysis on the Health Exchange Analytics Program team
    • Document processes for use in training, maintenance, and department procedures
    • Work closely with all analytic resources to achieve team goals
    • Assist in the training and growth of new analysts, as well as act as Subject Matter Expert on requested analyses
    • Perform complex queries, apply extensive understanding of database tables, relations, data types and values
    • Monitor changes in the external environment (regulatory/reimbursement changes, managed care arrangements, etc.) and advise senior management on threats and opportunities with suggested action plansAssist in the analysis and presentation of business opportunities
    • Participate in development and analysis teams with other analysts (including analysts and managers of other organizations) 
    • Develop an extensive expertise in the HHS Risk Adjustment area.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Health Administration, Mathematics, Information Systems, Economics, Statistics or related field

     SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS

    •  Strong knowledge of a structured query language, such as Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server TSQL, SPSS or SAS
    • Working knowledge in Tableau enterprise environment as both a developer and analyst
    • Highly analytical thinking with demonstrated talent for identifying, scrutinizing, improving, and streamlining complex work processes
    • Performs data analysis using traditional and non-traditional statistical methods
    • Ability to analyze problems and develop multiple workable solutions
    • Demonstrates an active interest in enhancing current skills and learning new ones; applies advanced functional or technical knowledge to do his or her job at a high level of accomplishment
    • Chooses appropriate tools or technology for tasks; improves or redesigns processes, tools, or technologies
    • Consistently shares expertise with others, teaching skills and explaining concepts
    • Participate fully in analytical team.  May lead multi-functional teams.
    • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting complex problems

     WORK BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE 

    • Required: Minimum 3+ years of experience in data analysis and/or report development
    • Preferred: Minimum 3+ years of experience in healthcare, business analysis or application development/implementation
    • Six Sigma Green Belt preferred

    • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
