    Thie Chief Financial Officer is primarily responsible for the oversight of all fiscal and accounting functions with the single authority for managerial and operational accounting, financial statements, reporting, and fiscal policy interpretation. The CFO plans, organizes, and directs the financial management, serving as the single position through which all financial information within the corporation flows.



    • Directs the preparation of financial reports for the CEO, board members and other health plan and health systems executives
    • Develops and submits accurate reports to meet all federal and state reporting requirements
    • Provides significant contributions to shape the organization’s short-, mid- and long-term business strategies
    • Certifies all financial statements, transactions, payments, receipts and accounts
    • Directs financial accounting functions to ensure accurate recording and reporting of corporate financial information.  Functional areas include budgeting, payroll administration, general accounting, cash receipts, cash disbursements, purchasing, accounts payable, fixed asset accounting, capital projects, and financial management and reporting
    • Ensures timely, effective and accurate financial planning and budgeting, financial reporting and cost analysis, and the development of forecasting models to project revenues and costs
    • Develops, implements, and enforces accounting policies and practices throughout the company
    • Develops and manages the organization’s relationships with key external partners including those responsible for external audit and actuarial functions
    • Builds, develops and retains a high performing team of finance professionals
    • Continually increases the financial and health plan business acumen of health plan and health system executives and leaders

    Specific Responsibilities (ongoing)


    • Budget development, forecasting and variance reporting
    • Financial analysis
    • GAAP and statutory financial statements
    • Quarterly Board of Directors financial reports
    • Annual audits (CY Statutory and FY as part of MCVH)
    • Bureau of Insurance monthly, quarterly and annual filings
    • IBNR calculations and trend reports
    • Actuarial analysis support
    • External audit support
    • Tax return support
    • License and membership reporting and fees
    • Claim payments audit
    • Cost benefit analysis



    •  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA and/or MBA required


    • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
    • Working knowledge of automated accounting systems and computer operations for maintaining counting records
    • Ability to analyze statistical and financial reports
    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work effectively with co-workers as a team member
    • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing


    • Five years of related work experience with minimum of 3 years supervisory experience
    • Experience in healthcare environment preferred


    • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
